MrHalberd did a good job at explaining the basic gameplay loop, but to add to that I would say that the Avalanche Engine is really shining, and I look forward to seeing what else it is capable of. It seems like the developers are actively working to improve the game experience by listening to the community, and I genuinely have high hopes for them. That being said, it is a tad bit buggy, and needs some love. I doubt they would catch an unreasonable amount of flak for that, especially considering they're not asking for a AAA price tag. I'm just bad at the game lmao, I'm sure there are people that adore the challenge.Įdit: I didn't like how "deader" sounds so I changed it to "more dead"Īs far as the state of current Early Access releases goes, this could pass as a completed product in today's market. Lastly, it is almost worth the price, because it's not too expensive however, that difficulty spike kind of turns me off at the moment. If anything, I would say wait to buy until they add the difficulties, I strongly believe this game has rediculously good potential, and the devs listen and interact with the community almost daily on discord. Overall it has high replayability, the only reason I haven't played more is because I am waiting for the horde mode to be released as well as difficulty options. Dinosaurs will make your life hard completing this objective cause they want you more dead than week old roadkill. You then will drop into the map and make your way to the objective point which has some kind of task you need to complete. So, you begin by choosing a mission out of 6 options, you choose from 4 characters, and then you choose where you want to drop in. If you don't know about deep rock, I'll tell you more about how Second Extinction works. I would say the best way to describe the gameplay loop is deep rock galactic but dinosaurs, and only one map. However, it's a challenging, fun kind of difficult. I've played mostly solo so far any my only real complaint is it's pretty hard.
